As the liaison between meeting planners, tour operators, and more than 800 member organisations, the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB), established in 1913, helps to bring over 42 million visitors to Georgia each year. In support of its mission to drive tourism, ACVB runs a non-profit chamber of commerce and arts foundation, as well as for-profit publications. Previously, the organisation struggled to achieve real-time financial visibility across its multi-entity legal structure using a legacy IBM AS/400-based accounting system. According to Braam du Plooy, Controller at ACVB, before switching to Sage Intacct, the cumbersome green screen software they were using prior, slowed down critical financial processes and required way too much manual work for things like consolidations, data entry, and inter-company transactions. Thus, the ACVB decided to convert to modern, cloud-based ERP software that would meet its long-term needs. And this is where Sage Intacct came into effect. See the Case Study below for more on how Sage Intacct transformed ACVB’s financials for the better.
